Move whatsapp data from laptop to new phone

Hello,

I had an android phone, tecno spark 7t, and i had whatsapp backup locally not on my google account.

I also have whatsapp application on my mac laptop and i have it open since longtime as i use it daily.

the other day i lost my phone when i dropped it in water so i have no more phone and the board is down and cannot retrieve any data or anything from my phone.

My whatsapp messages and data are still active on my mac laptop and i can use them normally.

I bought a new android and i want to know if there is a way to move my whatsapp application data from my laptop to my new android as i still all the data and message on the whatsapp app on my laptop ?

Yes, there is a way to transfer your WhatsApp data from your Mac laptop to your new Android phone. Here's what you need to do:

  1. Download and Install WhatsApp on Your New Android Phone: Go to the Google Play Store, search for WhatsApp, and install it on your new Android phone.

  2. Locate the WhatsApp Backup Folder on Your Mac: On your Mac, go to Finder, and then go to your user folder. From there, click on "Library" and then on "Application Support." Locate the "WhatsApp" folder, and inside it, you will find the "Backup" folder.

  3. Transfer WhatsApp Backup to Your Android Phone: Connect your Android phone to your Mac using a USB cable. On your Android phone, open the "WhatsApp" folder and then create a new folder called "Databases." Copy the latest backup file from your Mac's WhatsApp Backup folder to the "Databases" folder on your Android phone.

  4. Restore WhatsApp Data on Your New Android Phone: Now, open WhatsApp on your Android phone and follow the instructions to set it up. When prompted, choose the option to restore your WhatsApp data from the backup you just transferred to your Android phone.
