Why can’t I change the username on Spotify?

I want to change my Spotify username to share it with my friends. But I should have done so. I've checked many options to solve my query, but those could have been more helpful. Please guide me through step by step process will be beneficial. Thank you so much for your attention and participation.

Hi,

You can't change your username on Spotify - it is designed to identify you on the platform. However, it is possible to change your display name replacing the username where it shows on your profile.

To change your display name, you just need to access your Spotify profile:

  • On mobile, go to Home > Settings > View Profile > Edit Profile.
  • On desktop, select the down arrow > Profile and edit your name.
