i'm not sure who helpios is, but based on that solution you may as well write a note and send it by carrier pigeon.

Hi,
It seems that WhatsApp for PC isn't supporting GIFs.
As a workaround, send your GIF files to yourself by email and download them on your phone. Then, you can share them to your WhatsApp app.
Also, as you don't like writing on your phone keyboard, type your message in the email so that you can paste the text on your phone.

For some reasons, only GIFs that have been downloaded by the user don't work. If you use the emoji, they work, indeed. I don't know whether it's by design or not. But if you follow the method above, you'll be able to send your own GIFs on WhatsApp.
