Whatsapp web "chat to myself" not working Solved/Closed

Question

Hello, 

After upgrading to the new Whatsapp Web version (where the phone does not need to be online), the "chat to myself" feature is not working correctly.
On the phone (Android), when I write a message on that chat, it does not show in Whatsapp Web (chrome) or in Whatsapp for Windows.
If I write a message in Whatsapp Web or Whatsapp for Windows, then it seems to be ok, as I can see it on the phone.
Is anyone experiencing the same issue?

Hi,

I've found a workaround that works for me:
1) create a new group with just you and someone else from your contacts list
2) remove that person from the group
3) in the end you'll have a group with just one member (you)
This way you can send messages or photos or whatever you want to yourself.

Note: When you create a group you just have to add someone else in your contact list. You become automatically part of that group.

this is it, any self messages from the phone do not get shown on the computer, but the opposite way works, very annoying and hope they fix this soon.

I was facing same issue but got fixed when i logged out from whatsapp web on my laptop and then reconnected device it worked for me. I hope this helps someone.

yes i am also facing this problem for past 2 months or so and there seems to be no proper reply, except a trick suggested below: to make a group of your own self, alright will try that.

a qucik fix! use the WhatsApp Desktop instead!...

will will be able to send messages to your self from desktop ...

but not from mobile to desktop..

I experienced reverse problem, since I loved how the chat from different devices appear like conversation, I arranged the devices to rely on certain types of messages. The desktop version has ever since need to log out to sync not rarely numerous times before messages could appear properly, and has just getting normal last week. Now it couldn't even rely any after the previous problem arise back and the app getting reinstalled times again on both devices. They even asked for update and the button won't show up until just 10 minutes ago.
