Yahoo is currently experiencing problems with the app. Clearing the cache and data or reinstalling it worked for some people, but an update is expected for a permanent fix.

While waiting for Yahoo services to be fully operational, I suggest you try recovering your account using the Sign-in Helper on a web browser. Here's also an article for different methods to recover a Yahoo Mail account.

If you still can't recover your account, try with a different browser or device. Otherwise, wait 24 hours and don't make any attempt to recover or access your account.
