Can't open emails after receiving them?

Hello,
I have the G4 Mac OSX 10.3.9 I can send an recive emails but I am not able to open them, it keeps telling me that I have to conact to the server to down load messages. Any idea?

Hi,

Please check whether the mail is not in your junk list ?

Otherwise try to log on your online webmail.
