Dear Sir,
All you have to do is to try to connect to the wireless network, If you can't get connected just create again a new connection on your pc, If your wireless network is secured by a wep key just use it again on the new connection
If nothing works, just call your friends and undo the settings he made!

The best way is to ask your friend to undo what he did, save you time to troubleshoot. If not, you can have a look on this wireless adapter or network card configuration article, maybe can help you connect to network.
