Hello,

I am a Dell Inspiron 6400 user. After some minor cleaning, my laptop on/off switch is not working. No response. But the 5 LED that shows capital letter, scroll lock,....., etc, able to lights up. It also starts up and boots up automatically after click shut down. I need to remove battery everytime I finish my computer. Once I plug in the battery, I start and boot up automatically. Please help. Thank you.

Thank you for your advice.

I had the same problem, but I solved it by removing the hinge that cover the power and MediaDirect button. And re-sit the hinge. Its mechanical fault for my case.
