Hello,

I wonder if anyone can help me, I'm trying to transfer data over a fibre link using converters. I can get to either server and dont get any packet loss on a ping test. But as soon as a try to transfer a file ( in this case its a 70mb file) to test the transfer speed, the process stalls and then starts again constantly, so much so it takes almost an hour to transfer this file, whereas if I do it across the lan it takes seconds!

I am using scp command i'm using is: scp /craig/SINLFILE root@liveserver:/craig

Is there something I am missing? The converters have been configured correctly, apert from there not being much to configure on them. Any help would be appreciated

Yours

Hi :)

It may depend on which version of linux but this forum should be able to help
http://www.linuxquestions.org
as it deals with a huge range of different versions of linux but is dedicated to linux support.

It might be worth popping along to
https://distrowatch.com/
to see if you recognise which of those versions of linux you are using. If you see your version listed down on the right-hand side then click on it and navigate to the "User Forums" for your version of linux. They should be able to give much better help in there.

Good luck and regards from
Tom :)
