iv just got this acer mouse plugged the little dongle thing that the mouse has to connect to and is not coming on theres no light or anything

Is this a wired or wireless mouse? Is it USB or PS2? Is it plugged directly into the computer or is it plugged into a hub? Need more info from you before I can help.
