laptop doesnt detect the hard driveClosed

Hello,
i have a brand new laptop HP mini
it was functional on the first day.. 
on the 2nd day, It wont boot because it wont detect the hard drive
it has the same cable IDE. the bios wont detect it..
please help! thanks

hi there,

when staring your machine press (del) or whatever key displayed to enter bios

once in the bios settings try to see the attached devices or boot sequence and make hard drive primary boot

or reset to default >save & exit

my problem is upon installation.
how can i go into the bios system when im currently installing my new laptop with the Os.
