No Sound

Hello,
I have no sound on my computer. I've tried everything I know to do. I have all the software in the world, but nothing can fix it. Im running windows xp home edition service pack 1. version 2002. compaq presario.

http://www.compaq.com/cpq-country/cpq_support.html

please select model and operating system to get appropriate drivers.
