Computer won't start up

Hello,
I attempted to start my hp pavillion dv2000 pc but all i get is the hp invent black and white screen. at the bottom left is the press <esc> to change boot order and press <f10> to enter setup. i have only gone to the enter setup and restored defaults but still nothing. my children use this computer as well so who knows what may have happened. please help!!!

Hi,



It may be because some of your system files has been moved or erase.



Try to boot on safe mode and correct errors.



Press F8 when you start your computer.


Once you are on safe mode try to see what happen or restore your computer at an earlier date.

ok i turned my comnputer off and then on i attempted to hit f8 but the screen does nothing and the computer does nothing....is there anything else i can try? do i need to enter the setup menu or the change boot order menu?
