Hello,

I've been fighting with my Toshiba Satellite A205-S4629 running Vista OS for months. One day it decided it wasn't going to play any sounds any more. There is no sound coming from the speakers or when I plug in headphones. I've checked the hardware settings and the speakers show that they are emanating sound when I display the sound output but there is no sound actually coming out. I've attempted updating the drivers but it says that I'm using the most current. I would have attempted a rollback in drivers but it doesn't display as an option. I've done searches on the web but I've not found anything that quite explains this problem or provides a way to fix it. I'm coming up on a time when my laptop will have to function as my entertainment center as well as my main computer for a short while and the lack of sound is no longer acceptable.

Please, does anyone have an experience with this issue and/or what I can do to resolve it?

Hey Sir,

You can download the drivers here:

http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/support/jsp/modelContent.jsp?ct=DL&os=&category=&moid=1702263&rpn=PSAF0U&modelFilter=A205-S4629&selCategory=3&selFamily=1073768663

Just select the operating system you are using

Thanks

I think you should try to reformat your laptop, it's the only way to get rid of this issue.
