Why is it slow on my computer?

Hello,
I would like some help please, i have a Asus laptop and it is a 2GB memory, 250GB HD, DuoT9300 CPU, nvidia GeForce' 9500m Gs graphics card and its Vista Ultimate. As some of you know this laptop is built for games but its very slow with GTA 4. I'm not really smart with computers but if you know how to help me can you please describe what i need and what to do with simpler words.

Speed Up Your PC By Disabling Unnecessary Windows Services

and make a system defrag as well as empty recycle bin
