Transfer files and settings from a broken pc

Hello,
The mother board on my Laptop has died. I’ve ordered a new computer and would like to transfer my files and settings form the old computer to the new. My old machine won’t boot but I have access to the hard drive. (via USB and a new hard drive enclosure). Can I easily transfer the files and settings off of the old drive to the new one? The old machine ran Vista Home Premium 32bit the new one runs the same but 64bit. Any advice?
