Sound Problem in Win Vista Premium OS

Hello,
I have Dell Inspiron 6400 Laptop and I installed Vista Basic. All the drivers are detected auto except card reader.

Audio = Realtalk

But, I could not hear the sound.

After I download the SigmaTel High Definition audio cedec driver from Dell website and Installed. but the same problem.

I could not hear the sound too..

Pls help m e

download a file called belarc advisor from here

https://downloads.belarc.com/advisor/advisorinstaller.exe

install and run.
it will take a snapshot of all your hardware/software.
it will list make and manufacture of hardware, then you can get the correct drivers for your laptop.

As per your instruction,

In the result page, I show the "SigmaTel High Difinition Audio Codec" under the Multimedia.

I hope, I installed the same drivers....but still no sound...

in the belarc report what does it report for your chipset and motherboard?
