Ok.. briefly
you can connect the Usb to your computer then
on connection setting select
allow other devices to connect thr my computer
and that's all!
2 option
get your laptop next to the ps3 get a cat5 cable from your ps3 to the laptop
go to manage conections and create a bridge betwen your ethernet connection and wifi. I learned this when using my ps2 .

I don't think you can use this type of connection to connect to the PSN !!!
