Hello,

I want to connect a second hard drive for use as a backup device. My primary drive is SATA 7200 rpm. What are the speed implications (for large transfers) of installing an internam drive versus an external USB 2.0 device?

Which is faster - what are the maximum transfer rates of each?

Would another SATA drive be a better choice instead of IDE?

hi there,

sata is better as the transfer rate is faser

usb2.0 run at 480Mbits/seconds while sata2 allow for 3.0 Gigabits/seconds,

about 6 time faster interface speed

Thanks
