Forgot my password for my router? Solved/Closed

Question

Hello,

I have just bought myself a new laptop and I can't get on to my net as I can't find the password for my router. Is there any way to bypass my wpa2 password as I don't need to change any of my settings on it? 

I just want to get this new laptop online.

Hi, 

If you have forgotten your password, you can recover it by simply connecting one of your computer with the help of a cable to router port 1.

Then open the browser and enter 192.168.1.1 in the address bar. Keep the info like this:

 Username  ....... (blank) 
 Password: admin 
 Go to Wireless > then Wireless security
 There is your security WPA key, password. Make a note of it and try to connect the WiFi using it.

It would work without changing any personal settings.

On a mac? Change it by going to Applications, then to Utilities, then Keychain Access, under passwords, double click your wireless name, select show password, type your computers access password, then save changes.

Download and run this program on a laptop with access.  The program will display the existing key.
