Router not working

Hello,
i got a new internet connection nd when i connected it to my router it does not work....using it directly is working.......if i repair it at times it does work but only for a min....:-(.....
thnx plz help.....

Hello, what is the model of your router? have you tried to configure it properly? some routers have special port for the modem , check that you have properly use it.. try to ping and internet address from command prompt

in run menu, type cmd

then type "ping https://ccm.net/" and check for a response, if you get something it may be a firewall problem

try pinging the ip address of your modem also

i have linksy wrt54h.....yea its plugged in the right port...i have pinged the ip but its still not working.....i did wht u told me to type something did come so wht do i do with the firewall?!
