Dear Sir,
You will have to create a bootable floppy disc,
You can do this on another machine running Windows 98
click Start > Settings > Control Panel > double-click the Add Remove programs icon
click the Startup Disk and create disk.
Make sure to have a floppy inserted in the floppy drive
Then you will need the Windows 98 installation disc
Boot from floppy when starting the computer and put the disc
Then follow the instructions

I have installed win XP but never win 98 How do I prepare a new hard disk drive for the installation of a Windows 98 system? I have a Windows 98 start-up disk. Please explain the steps required to prepare the drive so that it will have two partitions. the 1st, 75% of the disk space, the 2nd, 25%
