Hello,
I got the new keyboard (and installed it) and they still do not work.

turn the computer off and try using it again

I put it in over a week ago. The laptop is turned off at least once a day.

you can install the mouse and use that for navigation and if you have time then try to solve the prob with the person or company you bought the item from
