How do i reset my mac os x password w/o cd?

Hello,
Can I have directions STEP BY STEP on how to do this? I am not a big computer person and I need help!! I need every little step. Thanks a ton!

i have no why i installed atotal control psswrd & cannot use my disks b/c my cd drive is jammed w/ 2 disks of other data- i got a lemon and wnna make
it right ASAP! PLEASE< I BEG OF

Try to use the Osx Cd . go to utilies ( dont install the os again ), and click on ''Reset Password''

They said they didt have acess to the CD ROM. what you gave them tels them to use their startup disc...
