Cant hear any sound on my laptop

Hello,
am joshua, i cant hear any sound on my laptop, the laptop name is advent but when i try the sound device system default sound it, the sound comes up but when i play music from any player it is not playing please help me

hi there,

press start +r

run will open

type msconfig and press enter

on general tab select normal startup

apply and press OK

restart system if needed
