Hello,
Hello,
im using a wd elements external harddrive which has a total memory of 1TB. recently it has been showing that its left with only 200Gb of 700Gb yet it's supposed to be 500GB of 1Tb remaining. where has the other 300GB unused memory gone? This happened after i tried running ubuntu from a disk which failed and ended up replacing my operating system with ubuntu. the external harddrive was connected during installation. I suspect it may have been partitioned somehow, i just don't know. i tried scanning it for errors and bad sectors but it couldn't find anything. somebody please help

hi
try with some partition creating software like Partition Magic. when you install this software you'll be able to see if ubuntu created some ( ext3, ext4...) partition on your HDD and you can erase, menage, resize your partitions. but be carefull becouse you can lose all you data. good luck...
