Messenger in not working

Hello,
I am not able to open my msn messenger version 9. I am getting a message that i need to up grade the new version.While I am trying to download, I failed to download successfully. I need to use my old version (msn version 9) without getting this upgrade mesage. Who can help me..........msnchatfriend
