Defrag HDD outside OS

is it okay to defrag hdd while OS is not running.
i want to use Paragon Total Defrag 2010 boot disk.
is there a difference between defraging inside or "outside" OS.
pls. advice.thanks

hi there,

yes you can do it while the hard disk is in use

and outside as you mentioned its faster
