Sound doesn work compaq c500

Hello,
i got a compaq presario c500, i recently install windows xp onto it and everything but he sound works. what can i do to get it to work, i went in to the device manager and it says all drivers are good, and i do not have it on mute.

hi there,

if you already install the drivers

then open run type msconfig

on general tab select start normally apply and restart pc
