Hello,

Anyone hear about SP3 download/installation causing hard drives to die? I tried to install in a couple days ago, then had to cancel since it took way too long (I couldn't leave my machine unattended in an insecure college campus office overnight). Shortly there after, I got a virtual memory limitation error, then a day or so later the machine randomly shut itself off. Upon rebooting, it then said primary disk failure, no hard drive detected. Just wondering if the partial installation could have messed up some of the information in a critical boot-up sector of the hard drive. Or are they completely unrelated? The machine is a Dell Latitude D600 notebook.

Thanks!
