Email works fine but cannot surf

Hello,

I had a virus of some type and after a scan using NOD and solved the problem except I can't browse the internet. I'm able to check and send emails, no problem. Even more odd is if I switch users I can surf the net. I installed the IE8 but no change.

I have Vista.
