New computer wont load xp

Hello,
I just built a computer and i am trying to load xp but i cannot format the hdd.it gives me a partition to format (C: partition1 unknown 131062mb) which i think is the xp disc itself but it wond show up my HDD even tho its showin in the BIOS? anyone have any suggestions?

Did the hard Disk have Linux on it before? Win XP can't clear off a Linux partition. If that is the problem you can download Killdisk and use it to remove the Linux partition.
