My word file documents given adobe properties

Hello,

I have downloaded A new adobe reader and I found that all my word document files have appeared in my desktop as having PDF properties. I have removed the adobe , and my word documents have come back as word documents. I re-installed it, and they appeared as PDF documents. I dont know why?.

Can anybody help me on this.

You allowed the adobe acrobat reader to change the file association of .doc to the Adobe reader. You need to change it back to Word.

click on the Start/windows button - select Default programs - scroll down to the .doc file type and change it to start Microsoft Word.
