Sound cutting in and out during television Closed

Hello,

Please help. My surround sound works fine when I play a DVD or PS3 but cuts in and out while watching cable TV. I have noticed some commercials play with no issue so I am totally lost. Thanks for any recommendations.

now that I think about it......i have an "optical" cable running from my PS3 to my TV and maybe that is causing the interference? the reason i am using the optical cable is b/c my surround sound receiver does not have enough input/output docks for cable, the receiver, and the PS3. haven't tried this yet so i'll look later tonight
