fail to start hardisk Closed

Hello,
my toshiba satelite m300 having a big problem now..the screen will sud black all i press all the key still the same..so i switch off the power and on again..it fail to start..the hard disk icon on the  does not light up..
wat the main problem of this cause? does reformat will solve this problem?? need help plz thx you...

Dear Sir, 

Please check whether the problem is not coming from the fact that the power supply is messing up. Please check whether the power supply cable is working properly. If the cable is allright, it might be coming from the power supply unit. If ever you don't have the proper tools for checking whether electricity is passing thorugh the CPU, please get it to a computer technincian in order to detect the source of the problem.
