Audio and sound problem in Laptop

Hello,

I have some problem in my laptop. The sound/voice of musicians and dialogues between people in any movie are sounding like cartoonish..as if mickey mouse himself has sung the songs or delivered the dialogues in the movie. This is a recent problem in my HCL laptop which is only 6mnths old. Is there a virus.which came while downloading music or movies from the net? Please instruct how it can be fixed!!

No, by the looks of things it would not be a virus. A virus would be far more volitile then simply changing sound levels and there would have been far more tell-tale signs. If you were to go to the trouble to set up a virus which attacks audio you would disable the whole thing. Rather it may be a problem with the wireing to the speakers or a change in the equalizer.
