How Can I Make a Good Copy Of My Windows Xp

Hello,
I would like to know how i can copy my windows xp ser pack2 program from my Computer.Does it matter whether or not it is Genuine.My Cd is Scratched badly and its Costs Too Much to purchase the Latest windows 7.Where I am a pc Gamer and Ièm always installing and uninstalling Games,Software,hardware,ect..frequently on my pc,Ièm Constantly asked to provide my windows xp cd,in order to add an update,or if i had picked up a virus that cannot be deleted or hurt my pc where I had to Resort to Formatting it,Either way,I need another Windows Xp Cd and I dont have anyone to borrow it from nor can I afford to buy 1.Is there any way To SafelyMake/Burn off my windows xp program make a copy of it to a cd-rom cd-rw Dvd,Anything.Thanks sincerely,Sheryl Lyn
