Well why would it say that you need to install a software? What is the exact message. It must have a USB port, so you could use some external hard drive or usb sticks to make the make backups.

You have two options:
1. buy a USB external hard drive adapter - remove the hard drive and use another PC to copy the data
2. use a Bootable Linux CD and copy the data to a USB drive
