Hello,
I was adding new ram in a P4 machine of my brothers (I know Id rather throw it out than fix it) but anyways it would not take the ram, it is the same specs as the old ram. Pc had 1 512mb stick was upgrading to 2x512mb, both ram sticks work if only one is in at a time, if both are installed I got no video and dvd wont work take one out and everything was back to normal. So I google my problem and went to another site that said to: take out internal battery and install ram put it back in the turn on, if that doesnt work take the battery back out and turn pc back on then off...... After doing that the computer will not boot just the fans come on and 2 led in the front. Any suggestions would be great thanks

enter the bios and choose the right setting for the graphics card, pci/agp it might just be as simple as that.

Hi there,

Whenever changing or adding more Ram to system ,you need to purchase with same frequency, cpu z will help you with frequency and also the maximum ram which will be supported by your system, download it from link below:

https://ccm.net/downloads/security-and-maintenance/4993-cpu-z/

Thanks

consider- how much capacity ram accept by your computer. 2/ check one ram both slaut one by one .(ram and slaut). we should know different speed ram and different speed processer . we can nt use diffrent speed ram once time . we faced same problem many time in our lab] .it is our experince. good lock u
