Sync my iPod touch to a new computer

Hello,
I bought a new ipod touch and couldn't activate it so I gave it to a friend. So he activated it and put music on it but now I would like to get my own account so I made a new account. Itunes said that I am sync with a different itunes library. I was wondering if I sync it will it erase my songs that I have on it all ready, do I need to back my ipod touch up?

Yes if you sync it to a new account it will erase the iPod.
