Speakers arent working...

Hello,
im pj, and well, im running an hp/xp laptop but i woke up one morning and vala my laptops sound/speakers werent working...cant generate sound or anything, help please?

Downloading the driver of ur sound card from the HP website https://support.hp.com/us-en/

Caution : if there r 2 sound drivers u must first install UAA.

if u have mac OSX Leopard, just go to iTunes and down under there is SPEAKERS drop-down menu. Choose multiple speakers and it checks if ur HP speakers are working, ie. properly connected to the device. A reminder: my speakers needed to be plugged into headphones-jack.
