Sharing word documents etc between 2 pc's

Hello,
I have a wireless connection between my Pc upstairs and my laptop downstairs. PC upstairs is connected to the internet by Broadband cable but my laptop is wireless. I have Microsoft Office 2007 on both machines. How can I access my files in Word etc on my main PC from my laptop?
