Dvd rom only reads but doesnt write

Hello,
i recently started having this problem with my computer it will only read discs but would not write any discs nor dvd. i have tried installing roxio burning rom but still nothing and now im with nero and this doesnt change anything.
can anyone help me please?

Broken DVD - get a new one.
