Hello,
My daughter deleted programs off my computer to make it run faster and ever since then I have had no sound on my speakers, how do I fix this problem? I have a Compaq Presario that I use for school and need to have the sound working. Can anyone help me. Thank you Quickjiffy

Download the sound card drivers from HP/Compaq.  install them and reboot your PC.  Your sound should then work.

Post the results - there are some other steps to kick-start the sound if this doesn't work.

i was deleting what i thought was unused filed to speed up computer should have left alone  i now have no volume i have gone in to the con. panel as well as properties and it showes the volume but will not let me use it (faded out ) the computer check up says no volume or sound found need help
