Can't connect to the internet after format

I just formatted my laptop recently. It runs on Windows Vista. The problem is I can't connect to the internet. And when I checked my device manager list, my network adapter status says that it's not working. Even my network controller and the SM Bus controller are not working and there's this small , yellow triangle icon with an exclamation mark in it beside them in the list.My laptop model is CQ40-516TX.Can anyone help???
