Can't connect to internet

Hello,
My 5 year old laptop has never been wireless even though I have the Linksys Broadband Router. I've always had to use a phone jack and plug into the wall and the back of the laptop. When I got DSL I couldn't plug in anymore. I've had to take it to a "Squad" 6 times in 12 days. They keep telling me it works now and I get it home and still can't get on-line. Laptop keeps saying "AOL 9.1, Not Connected". Think maybe I don't have the router plugged in correctly? Any suggestions?

Did you reset AOL to use broadband? It may still think it needs to dial out to connect.
