Cant boot up

i have windows xp pro. when i try to boot up the windows loge comes on for a second or so then it goes to black screen with pri. master disk pri.slave disk information. below that is pci device listings. on the bottom is a c:\> is there something i have to type in this to reboot. when i do it says bad command or prompt.
