Dvd rom is new but cant use it

Hello,
I am actually encounting a rare problem with my pc I cant connect my new dvd rom through sata port. I have two hard disks connected in sata 1 and sata ports and one through ide ports primary master. When I connect my new dvd rom it cannot get past the bios upto windows it will just freeze anyone can help me please?

Hi,
Well if this is a new device then I would advice you to return it back from where you purchased it and have it exchanged for one. This is a bit rare indeed and there must be surely a problem with the memory buffer inside the dvd rom. Hope it helps you buddy.
