Dear Sir,
Please get to the mouse settings in the Control Panel and check whether it is not the double click speed which is causing the trouble and hence adjust the speed for it to work correctly.

1. Insure your mouse against physical mechanical isuue.
2. If you set your setting of your mouse , you can check control panel for it.
