Mp4 player reconised on hard drive note else

My sony mp4 player is showing on my hardrive and says connected, but when i try to transfer music on windows media or content transfer it says connect device, its driving me mad, any ideas ?

Dear Sir,

It might be that your USB port is faulty. Please try connecting it to another USB port to have the problem fixed.
